STATE CHAMPS ANNOUNCE SELF-TITLED ALBUM AND DROP TWO SINGLES
State Champs, the pop-punk band hailing from Albany, is back with their fifth studio album. This time, a self-titled record that will drop on November 8 via Pure Noise Records. To kick things off, they’ve unleashed two electrifying singles, “Silver Cloud” and “Too Late To Say.”
This album, produced by Anton DeLost (who produced Mayday Parade and Hawthorne Heights’ best work), feels like the culmination of everything that’s made State Champs who they are. “We’ve been through the highs and lows, both personally and as a band, and this album is our way of channeling that journey,” Derek DiScanio says. Bassist Ryan Scott Graham echoes that, noting, “When we stepped back and looked at the songs, sonically and thematically, it’s a great vision of who we are. Every era of State Champs exists within this record.”
Fifteen years in, the band – DiScanio, Graham, guitarist Tyler Szalkowski, and drummer Evan Ambrosio – has seen life change in significant ways: marriages, kids, and moves all over the country. These shifts have influenced the band's dynamic but also seem to have brought a new depth to their music, which we will hear in November.
