FRIEDBERG ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM, ‘HARDCORE WORKOUT QUEEN’

Friedberg has announced their eagerly awaited debut album, Hardcore Workout Queen’, which is set for release on November 8 via Clouds Hill. The 10-track album features previous singles like "Hello," "My Best Friend," and their latest release, "The Greatest." Anna Friedberg says in her own words that ‘Hardcore Workout Queen’ feels "like an endless road trip, with no destination"—perfect for those long drives where deep conversations flow easily, and the journey is as important as the destination.

‘Hardcore Workout Queen’ is an eclectic mix of sounds, blending psychedelia, dance-punk, and massive pop hooks. The album was written in studios across Berlin, LA, and London, including sessions with producers Dan Carey (Fontaines D.C, Goat Girl, Geese, and Wetlegs) and Oli Bayston. The result is a debut that's unmistakably Friedberg, capturing the band's unique energy and style.

Anna describes the album as a journey through her experiences over the past few years—it's vast and introspective, touching on themes of freedom, escapism, and self-reflection. It's the kind of record you play with the windows down, cruising along the coast, whether you know where you're headed or not.

Friedberg was formed in 2019, led by Austrian-born Anna Friedberg (writer, vocals, guitar, cowbells and percussion), with Emily Linden (guitar, vocals), Cheryl Pinero (bass, vocals), and Fifi Dewey (drums) completing the band. Their early success with singles like "Go Wild," which featured on the FIFA 2020 soundtrack and BBC's Normal People, set the stage for their debut EP ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah’—a collection of sharp, live-ready tracks that made waves across Europe.

Friedberg has had a busy year, performing at SXSW, The Great Escape Festival, and supporting acts like Giant Rooks, Big Special, and Placebo. Friedberg has also announced their first London headline show at the 100 Club on November 4, marking another milestone on the journey.
